How the text alert system works

Interpresource uses unique technology to link text messaging and computers.

When an interpreter is needed, the details of the assignment are texted direct to the mobile phones of the best qualified people — usually 10 of them, but it could be 20, 50 or even 100, in an emergency situation.

If you get the text alert, it means the system has already identified you as suitably qualified for the job.

This is what your text message looks like.

If you want the assignment

If this is an assignment you want, you just need to reply by typing the job code, in this case DST24, in the box and pressing SEND.

If you don’t want the work, do nothing.

There is no mystery about the code. Each client organisation has a three-letter prefix (e.g. DST) and this is followed by a job number of up to four figures.

So you only ever have to type in a maximum of seven characters to confirm your availability.

You may be the only suitable interpreter to reply, in which case you will automatically get the assignment.

If several people respond within the deadline, the client will have a choice. If you are selected, you will receive a confirmation text and you will be able to log in to your own account on Interpresource and see details of the assignment, including how to get there.
